BIBLICAL TERRANOMICS
Essays in Christian Dominion
From 1990 through 1999, I published a series of twenty-four essays in a publication I called "Biblical Terranomics". Some were short, just a few pages; others were booksize. They were exploratory essays reflecting my on-going research for a Biblical blueprint of social philosophy. By "social philosophy", I mean it in the sense as it was described by Richard Weaver, the great Southern Agrarian: those refined distinctions in rank and function which create the fabric of human relationships, and which we call - "Civilization".
Social order, I discovered, grows from land tenure. Hence, I coined the term "terranomics" (land laws) to describe my philosophy of social order which grew from an organic attachment to the land, the family, and the rhythms of nature. It is a philosophy in contradistinction to the institutional model, one which is based upon a militant technology, pyramidic institutions, and abstract thought.
The political ramifications are significant, but I have not taken a stand on partisan questions. Sometimes, I sound anti-government. I am not anti-government, nor am I an anarchist. I am an anti-statist. I am a libertarian and I believe God is one too. I do not believe that today's model for government and society is desireable or even Biblical. I believe the Old Testament Scriptures (as properly interpreted by the New Testament) contain the only blueprint for a just and happy society. I have dedicated my life in understanding them for that purpose. I believe in a Biblical model for government and society.
Also, during the early 1990s, I published a small magazine called The Family Spokesman. While Biblical Terranomics tried to deal with the great issues of the day, the magazine addressed subjects of concern close to home.
2004 Update
The above essays are no longer available except as archives in our school library. Much of the material has been re-published either in books - Biblical Midwifery, The Mother Heart of God, Restoring the Foundations, The Holy Conspiracy, Eros Made Sacred, Hierogamy & the Married Messiah, and so on - or previous Peshers. I invite you to obtain these volumes by going to our booklist page and ordering them. You may find other free materials, including past Peshers, in our Archives.
I do have plans to revive The Family Spokesman and Biblical Terranomics. If you would like to help our ministry and its publishing efforts, please consider a donation.
